girls education and empowerment

Girl education is the only way for the upliftment of women to claim gender justice. I am living a rural part of Tamil Nadu in India where the girls are deprived of education opportunity due to the sense of insecurity for Physical, Psychological, emotional and social security for them. The sex abuses on women including acid throwing is increasing crimes against women at the local levels also and parents think that marriage is the only safety way for the girls and tend to conduct child marriages at this region.
Another major reason for deprivation of girl education is the poor toilet facilities, class room and amenities at the schools and many of the rural schools do not have toilet and watering facilities and menstrual period infections are very common and girls are frustrated and some times depressed.
The alcoholism in Tamil Nadu is very much affect the family economy and girls tend to become a family burden and parents prefer them for child labour force and send them to jobs even at the tender ages leaving the school studies.
Government spends millions of rupees for the sake of girls education and mainstreaming the drop out children to the schools and vocational training programmes and still due to the above crimes against women and with the sense of insecurity to women in this land girls tend to leave the schools and live at home.
