Inclusion verses Accessibility

For a period of time now i have been inactive on world pulse here because of log in issues. My personal computer cannot log me in, even as i tried the reset of password still no positive result until yesterday, when I took my old phone and decided to go to my browser, it was here and below that I could access my world pulse page. It was tears of joy and I was like wow. However, because my phone was faulty my browsing was limited, it goes off when it likes without prompting.

In my browsing few debates caught my attention especially the one on disability and justice.

I thought justice in another word will mean inclusion for persons with disabilities. This same inclusion mean giving 1.PWDs jobs, 2. Giving them education and above all 3. Integrating them in our families  allowing our sons or daughters to marry them into our families).

Justices and or Inclusion we all know are two powerful but disguised words when used interchangeably. When we activists use these words, it literally means something is wrong, someone is left out, that all is not equal.

It always on the media and every corner of any other gender activist, that makes me think at some point we use it without context.

Disability and justice, Disability with inclusion

Before there is inclusion there must be productivity, again Inclusion goes with human resource. If there must be effective inclusion we must have ready the % of the disabled person ready and equipped for work. Every organization or institutions depends on the productivity of its staffs or workers. How productive are we Person with Disabilities? Can we perform squarely like our able counterpart? Are we willly to compete with them?

You see in most of my findings except in optional few cases, it always with bad report employing PWDs in most competing fields or sectors. Employers complaint about spending must on PWDs but with few benefit(as in productivity).

I have seen schools or educational institutions willing to admit PWDs into their schools but can't find any due to lack of education from among our members(in other words not qualified).

If we are advocating for disability justices, if we are fighting for disabled inclusion we must avail ourselves. Not only availability but be productive. Is it an excuse to report to work late because you think you are a PWDs? Is it the fault of your employer quering you due to neglences of you not signing attendance book because you are a blind worker?

I am not disputing the real fact that there is a huge gap regarding disability inclusion. I am a living example myself. Since I lost my job 2014 which was base on contract period for two years from 2012 I have not yet gotten a replacement. I do also knew of excellent productive PWDs graduates like me still waiting for the so-called jobs. Employers are scare honestly, they are like, we come with high cost standard but low productivity. Why employ a PWDs when we can get a so called abled person with less cost.

Remember an hearing impaired worker need a sign language interpreter, a visual impaired likewise need braille transcribed. The same with a physically challenged person, today it rain I cant access the roads with my crutches etc. These are extra cost for the employers. This is why we PWDs ourselves must not let hands down when giving the opportunity? Let's appreciate our employers for their extra hands, I  mean apathy.

We the disabled organization advocates; its great work that we are all doing but before we go to lobby any government let's make sure the rightful disposed people are there.

Toughing on Disability and Relationship

Family inclusion is the biggest problem left yet to be tackles. However, this sector is much more complicated that the above two. Relationship are personal issues and hence other parties are not needed. Nevertheless, this is where the problem is, so what do we do? My marriage was destroyed because my husband to be mother didn't want his son to marry a one legged woman into her house and it works.

This is the type of society we lived in. PWDs especially women with disabilities are marginalised for what is no fault of theirs. Anyway, I think its only a coward that will face out of his marriage because he or she wanted to please a third party.

Any man who does such is not worth of your love out there. You deserve much better person than him.

Association of Parents and Guardians of PWDs(PGPWDs)

Another issued that need serious attention in the disability field which will help shape PWDs fit into the above discussed topics will be Parents and Guardian's of PWDs (PGPWDs).

In the next generation to come focus must be shifted to this group for better integration of PWDs in all spheres of life. I believe for productivity in the disability sector, it all must start from the root. PGPWDs please pampering your disabled kids in the name of sympathy. We Dont need your sympathy, we need balance discipline to help us face the future that you will leave for us not sooner than later.

Give us the training that you give to our siblings. Why do you treat us special? We Dont need speciality?

Its this early combine training that you give us today that will built us into bold future men and women. Its this that will makes us dare when the going gets rough, its this that will give us the spirit of not giving up and wallowing in grief when all doors get close.

Send us to school. Dont his us. Use all your coin to give us the education we need, be it technical or vocational or other wise. We need you to shape us when we are young so we can fit in when we grow.

Infrastructure:

Accessibility to public services and buildings was our biggest problem, I think before I was born. I grew up having all the time to use staircase building.

Public places like shools, hospitals, every other government buildings even including public toilets, oh why? Services like sign language interpretors, and Braille transcript was never in our school or any other public building. If you are a visual impaired student better make sure of your guide before visiting any public office, its also same with Hearing impaired person, be sure of your sign language interpretor, else it will be better you Dont go out at all.

I remember my colleague student who was visual impaired. He had to records all lectures on audio. The test books and all pamphlets were useless to his use, because he can't avoid to hire a guide to read to him at all lectures.

I personally have enjoyed been carried on shoulders of some of my teachers because of exhaustion of using long outward staircases.

Inclusion is accessibility and accessibility is Justice.

We perform when the environment and services are conducive.
