St. Martin de Porres

St. Martin de Porres was born in Lima, 1579. He was an unwanted child of a Spanish noble and a freed African slave. He was accepted in the Dominican Order and helped people in need. He was just a simple person but his heart is full of love in providing service to the ones who needs his help. All his life, he devoted himself in helping people as well as animals. Also, the greatest love he offered is for God for which he has deep roots for prayer. He died in 1639 at the aged of sixty due to high fever. His feast day is on November 3.

Speaking of prayer, which is a very powerful source of faith. My mama prayed to St. Martin de Porres for a child. Back then, I was not born yet. She prayed and prayed until three years of marriage, she became pregnant and I came into the world. My mama passed on the tradition of prayers and being religious especially to St. Martin de Porres. Yes, prayers will be answered, sooner or later. I am still praying and believing that everything has a reason.

I am a devotee of St. Martin de Porres and Sto Nino. Hoping that our prayers will be answered. Keep the faith because miracles do happen.
