The current monsoon season has brought more happiness than trouble in the desert region. The greenery all around due to the rain has replaced the dullness of the Rajasthan.
Rajasthan has estimated a record of 509.88 mm rainfall from 1st June to 15th August. Six districts in Rajasthan have received 60% more rainfall than the normal. These includes Kota, Baran, Jhalawar, Pratapgarh, Tonk and Udaipur, whereas nineteen cities have received the exess rainfall from 20% - 59% are Jaipur, Churu, Jodhpur, Bhilwara, Dholpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Alwar, Dausa, Bundi, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jalore and Pali districts.
SS Singh, IMD director of Jaipur, ha said in an interview that, “This year, the monsoon is on the trough normal position due to which the low pressure depression is continuously following from the Bay of Bengal. It is giving good rains to the central India, including desert state of Rajasthan.”
