A girl child is also important part2

Speaking out was the best thing that ever happened to me. Women around the world are in deep pain. We go through all sorts of discrimination starting  from our parents who brought us to this world to our siblings, neighbours, colleagues, employers etc.

My case as mentioned earlier is that l was discriminated and refused my share of inheritance from my father. Out of frustration and with the help of my friend Ngwa Damaris she adviced me to start speaking out . And sensitizing parents on the importance of girl children. But while l was doing so a came across mankaa Victorine whose own case of discrimination was not from her parents.

Vicky was in deep pain beacuse of her own brothers. Her parents of blessed memory had 9 children( 3boys, 6girls) the other 5 girls are married except Vicky. She was stranded because her 3 brothers shared their parents properties  asking her to pack out of the house that she doesn't have space anymore in their house. The advice her to go and get married so that she can have a home like her sister.

Vicky's story made me understand there is much work to be done. Right now in my community l am having sensitization campaigns. Vicky like every other girl child deserve a place or why not an inheritance in her fathers house. We will use every peaceful means to make everyone understand that we too (girl children) have the right to an inheritance. "The girl child is also important"
