A Million in One

One of the things I like the most of world pulse is I feel absolutely free and safe to express myself. Reading the story of all of you, encourage me to search inside myself, think and produce new ideas and reflections that help me a lot in social activism.

I am not a psicologist and my approach to women that suffer violence and discrimination is not professional, is made from the emphaty and from being an equal: " You Suffer, I Suffer, You Jump, I Jump". During this long journey as a social activist in different environments, I learned I am every person and each one is me. I dont have an office to listen my friends or whoever want to talk. I am just there doing my tasks, and if you want to talk, just talk to me. You can find me online in facebook, in my classes of gender and grass roots development course,in my house reading, in the street "thinking in birds" ( I am clueless when in the street so dont feel bad if I dont see you coming!) or while wainting the bus.

That what happened yesterday, coming back home. I was in the bus and a lady with burden of packages and bags was in the middle of the bus looking for a seat.I made her a signal so she could take my place. Once she was sit, we started a conversation about climate; from climate we went to different issues : environment, to lifestyle,to safety in the streets, to she has been recently robbed, to social values, to the importance of colaboration, to how important is "concern" about others to a conclusion: be open to connect and a generous but responsible attitude towards the reality surrounding is important for keeping alive and quality life.

Look the photo with this post: grains of sand under the microscope. They are different, unique, beautiful, but the most amazing thing about is all that beauty has an aim and together form a soft and comfortable beach. For us is the same.

What happens to the woman beside me, could happen to me, Why not? I have the same chance to find a reason for joy or cry in the next corner. Since I am a social being, I am part of the good and bad. Humanity is a chain, as DNA, we are all connected, and our differences are necesary to complete a whole, as in the body is necesary the eyes are different from ears, so we can see and listen... as the grains must be different to be part of the sand.

Be a grass root referent is not only about having a political position, is being a eternal student in the school of life, trying to weave nets to complete the whole among me, others, and the others of others. We are just an inspiration in the history of the universe, but a creative one. We have a short time, with infinite oportunities.

Being social and always in need of others, is our ultimate DNA, what make us equal among our rich differences. Being open to new experiences in your life includes those experiences that come from others too. Each of us is "one in a million", and at the same time we are "a million." in one.
