About me:

I am the Executive Director/ Founder of FOONAC, The Gambia, a non- profits organisation which works to aid, inspire and empower the less privileged, orphans, the fatheless and community at large and to create lasting solutions for problems affecting them.

Presently, I have been working on a Project called the Street BeggingCampaign and Programme

This project reachs out to engage and train these women and girls, high in demand vocational skills such as tie and die, tailoring, petty trade etc to enable them become self reliance and earn income for their livelihood so that they can change their condition to an honorable stage through their own management and skill.

Vocational education is an essential component of strategies to reduce and prevent Beggary and will prepare the target group for gainful employment.

Young girls and children will be provided with educational support and necessary learning amenities such as uniforms, books, shoes etc to motivate and keep them from going back to begging.
