Poto Mitan: Rebuilding Haiti is now PotoFanm+Fi
In order to highlight our dedication to the mainstreaming of Haitian women and girls into Haiti's reconstruction effort, Poto Mitan: Rebuilding Haiti has decided to become PotoFanm+Fi.

PotoFanm means "pillar woman" in Haiti Creole. Several members insisted that we add "Fi" because girls are so easily forgotten despite being the future. Women are indeed pillars of Haitian society and their needs, voices and leadership can therefore not be left out of the reconstruction process, as explained in the Rele Fanm ak Fi Gender Shadow report. (We are part of the Rele coalition.)

We have also changed our blog url from www.potomitan2010.com to www.potofanm.org.

We hope to see you at Reconstructing Haiti: Haitian Women at the Center at the New York Women's Foundation on May 4th!
