Action Online - Continuing our work together.

We are suddenly in a different time, a time of health crisis, with all of the other crises we have been working on to create change together. In the middle of International Women’s Month we are suddenly not carrying out our plans as usual. What we do have is a strong movement online, one we have never had in the past, did not have even a few years ago. We have strong women’s voices rising in all of our many areas, organizations, online and especially here, where we already know and love each other. And where we have an ever-growing bank of stories that document what needs to be included. Our voices are even stronger by continuing to connect with each other as we can, and by keeping at the forefront all of what needs to change, not leaving women out, paying attention to what women know needs to happen, and starting with those most in need of help.

We are not in the streets this March but we can create waves online. Here are links to three petitions. Let’s raise our voices together.

One is Neema’s to bring international attention to the need for intervention in one area of the DRC. This has been posted here before but it can be sent out again to others who might not have seen it. Her powerful call for action and her loving message to us all to remember we are all related, is one I carry in my heart and read to others these days.

Another was posted by Sharon earlier today. We need a wave, to wash over the UN and all of our Governments and have women’s leadership carry the way forward.

The third is Everywoman’s Treaty which was presented online this past week having been unable to be heard in the UN meeting that got cancelled.

Can we raise a wave together through these, and keep those waves coming to bring attention to where help is needed most?

These past years we have grown so strong, and learn so much from each other about all that needs to change. Let’s get our names behind these petitions so that the leaders have our support and momentum and so that these plans become known.

These 3 petitions need a giant wave of women's signatures behind them. This is one thing we can do. Raise our voices together in a din that opens the path for us to have our priorities be the working plan from here on.
