Am I Robinson Crusoe of 21st Century?

Surfing through the Internet and using of software tools are my daily basic duties. What will or can I do without a computer and the Internet? My imagination leads me to the rural regions of Serbia.
I live in a little village in the mountains. I can drink water from a tiny mountain stream. It is very cold but clear and refreshing. The air is clean. My eyes are enjoyning the green grass, the blue sky and my ears are full of the most beautiful songs of the bird orchestra. The sheep are my company from the early morning till afternoon. When I return home I do my chores until the evening. The nearest neighbor is about two kilometers away. At night I can watch the only two TV programs, if the electric power is appropriate, read book or go to bed.
I am watching TV. There is a program about computers and the Internet. A very interesting one. The block out happened again, like two days ago. It would be nice to spend a few hours surfing. I imagine. I Google. I receive ten e-mails from my friends on Facebook. I take a few pictures of my surroundings and post them onto my blog. I want to present the whole beautiful, untouched nature where I will live to the end of my life. I share with my network group the things that happened during the last village Festival, the traditional dances, costumes and dishes.
The disaster struck. One of my older neighbors was injured when he tried to destroy a hornet heave. Luckily, a tourist happened to be near and heard him and took him to hospital twenty kilometers away. I have to write to my friend who lives in a village in the Alps and ask her for the solution of the same problems she used to have.
In Serbia, more than 20% of the young people over 15 have no primary education. In my village that percentage is even higher. I hope I will be able to gather all women from the village and make them join online courses. This is an opportunity for them to tell their stories as part of the new, fresh media - the Civil Journalism. I want to show them that the communication technology, new media and citizen journalism can provide us with opportunities to promote our village, its beautiful nature and above all, to let our voice to be heard.
I have to connect women of Serbia and help them to collaborate on this great new idea, and do not let them be forgotten like Robinson Crusoe on his island.
