Barriers Faced by World..

Sümeyye Boyacı, to put it more accurately, "the real mermaid", was born on February 5, 2003 as the first child of her family in Eskisehir. Both arms are not congenital exist and she has hip dislocation problem.

One day, while watching the fish in the aquarium, she realizes that they have no arms too and decides to swim like them and starts swimming.

She honored our country by winning a gold medal in the 50m backstroke S5 category at the European Paralympic Swimming Championships held in Dublin in August 2018.

Gao Guangli was born with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. The only place he can easily move on his entire body is his mouth. In 2017, he made a paper ship with his mouth in 3 minutes 34 seconds and entered the Guinness Book of Records. He contributes to his family's budget by selling what he made by origami on the internet.

We say disability, we say disabled, we feel sad.

We think that they will never have a normal (!) life, we feel sad.

We think about the troubles their family went through, and we get sad again.

Now that we are very sensitive, I want us to think this in diffirent way and decide who to be sorry for.

What exactly is the barrier?

Is it the reasons which encourage Sümeyye to become European Champion? Or is it the difficulties which encourage Gao get into the Guinness Book of Records?

So who exactly is a disabled person?

Is it the person who uses his hand, his arm to inflict violence on women and children? Or is it the person who develops bombs and pursues war projects while dominating all the channels of his mind?
