Big Waves Start with Small Ripples

"And then a hero comes along With the strength to carry on And you cast your fears aside And you know you can survive So when you feel like hope is gone Look inside you and be strong And you'll finally see the truth That a hero lies in you..."

Personally, this song by Mariah Carey has a magnanimous impact for me. Right from the start when I was just a wee lass, I came into a realization that nobody, and just YOU yourself alone is responsible for whatever lies ahead. And I am so real glad that most of those crossroads that I have undertaken were mostly the right track after all.

Hello dearest sisters around the world!

My heart is already singing that classes is almost over and Christmas spirits inevitably permeates the air. The previous month was a total ass-grinding where I participated and spearheaded our English Month Celebration. Yet the amount of happiness that we shared were totally priceless.

For the whole November, each week was a planned outreach program intended for our students as well as for the Women and Children in the shelter here in our city. (They were our preferred recipients since most of the clients there were my fellow refuge seekers.)

During the first week, we sponsored a healthy feeding program for our identified wasted and severely wasted learners where we English Teachers cooked by ourselves, a delicious and nutritious arroz caldo--- made of sticky white rice, chicken broth and meat, including gizzards, liver and topped with varied chopsuey veggies. That was indeed a treat! Oh how we loved that satisfied faces and happy tummies of them.

On the second, we did gave back to Mother Nature through wading on a knee deep seawater in San Jose, Tacloban City, one of the places which was in full destruction during typhoon Haiyan last 2013. It is where we planted ten mangroves each of us 15 teacher participants in the early dawn before 6. What a magnificent view to behold, I tell you dearest sisters! We were surrounded by majestic greeneries and the sun in its full glory radiates the best feeling of positivity and hope.

On the third week, we then extended our outreach in the Women and Children's Shelter. This time, we prepared something special for them. Out from our raised funds, and kind sponsors, we cooked a special cheesy spaghetti for them and bought a chocolate cake, as well as we were enjoined in the merry-making, and games. Lastly, we gave each of them some slippers, art and reading materials. All of us were joyful to see their sincere gratitude. They truly deserved it most too. ❤️❤️❤️

On the 4th week, we were again busiest with the tasks in hand to spearhead Literary contests among our students, leading some of it as a Reading Coordinator. We promoted new contests where students were most happy to join such as, "Joy of Reading Selfie," Parade of Book Characters, Recycled Book Mark Making, and Poster Making. Pictures were posted in my FB account. You may add me too sisters,

During this closing week, it was then I opted to close our month-long celebration through a Personality Development and Good Grooming orientation which I personally delivered, for our sisters in the Women's Shelter. (Please refer to my post #IStandWithHer

Everything went smoothly well and we were to thankful to our God Almighty for always guiding us through and of course to all the helping hands who made our little advocacy be realized.

May God bless Us all and to Him be all the highest glory!

P. S.

Praying to push through as well a series of Art exhibits this month, to be able to participate in the donation giving for our typhoon Tisoy victims in Samar as well as to be able to do my Personality Development and Good Grooming talk again for some unfortunate sisters in the Women Correctional this time.

A Merry Christmas and Bountiful New Year to All of us Dearest World Pulse Sisters! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

You too can create small Ripples.... And eventually turn it into Big Waves to create unforgettable impact for everyone.

Thank you very much for reading my story.

Love,

Angel Lasona
