Connection activity- Reflecting on interviews

Hello there everyone,

Rachael and I thought it would be great to get you all started connecting by posting questions for discussion. We will start posting these regularly at the beginning of the week to kick-start a conversation between the VOF graduates, and the current participants.

This week, I would like to pose a question about the interview process. We know that interviews are a key to good journalism, providing first-hand accounts of events, and illustrative quotations for your piece. But, they're not always easy!

What has been your experience with the interview process? What has worked well, and what didn't work so well? What would you like to improve on for future interviews and assignments? Requesting and scheduling the interview, note taking, asking hard questions... there are many aspects to discuss here, and we would love to see your thoughts and reflections!

If you have time this week, please share your experience with interviewing. And, be sure to check back to see what other VOFCN members have written, and maybe learn a few new techniques for your next interview.

Best wishes,
Scott
