Creating an enabling community for youth entrepreneurship and leadership



Youth unprofessionalism (youth unskillfulness) in remote communities is resulting toj oblessness and unemployment, limiting the strive for a viable economy, equitable societies and the promotion of the sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Most youth particularly int he rural communities lack basic necessities to increase their standard of living, they are face with the issue of poverty and are expose to crime and socially unwanted activities in the communities like rubbery, prostitution, unwanted pregnancy, and knapping.

Marbel’s psychosocial support center wants to undertake a project in the Nyasoso community in the South west Region of Cameroon with the intentions of carrying out a vocational training on pastries, soap production (liquid and medicated soap), jouvelle production and Ankara design. The main objective of the project is to Providing innovative techniques and skills or knowledge for the development of youth start-up and business as a means to reduce the issue of unemployment. Specific objective include: to reduce the issue of unemployment among youths, to increase standards of living for youths and there will be an increase in economic development, to reduce unwanted pregnancy in the community as a result of joblessness, to reduce gender based violence. This will increase the number of youths for entrepreneurship and leadership as problem solvers in the economy and society. The immediate project beneficiaries will further train and educate others in the community with the new skills. This will sustain the project even after the death or unavailability of the immediate beneficiaries in the community.

The project will be run with a total budget sum of 1.5millionFCFA for the purchase of equipment and other milestone or activities for the first phase of the 5million project. The project will mainly be manage and coordinate by Marbel’s psychosocial support
