Favorite Childhood Story

What was your favorite story to hear or read as a child? Was it a book or a story someone told you?

My favorite was a book about three messy pigs. They filled their rooms with mud and toys and kept the rooms as messy as possible and never wanted to clean because they felt the room was so unwelcoming and unpleasant anyway, so why clean. One day, one of the pigs lost something and had to clean an are of the room to find it and he discovered that the wall was a pretty shade of blue so him and the others continued to clean. By the end they had all of their favorite things they thought they lost in a lovely little room.
