GAY SON OF A PASTOR

Okay, he is gay in a society that ridicules his behavior.
I hear them say,
` Train up a child…. ` And so on, so forth, that proverb is quite common.
Suppose I am a clergy shepherding a flock of radical believers that makes my son feel like he is a filthy sinner in the presence of customized holy of holies. Maybe I would feel depressed and judge myself that I have failed on my part as a parent in embracing the principles of moral upbringing.
Here, I still can’t run away from the fact that I am an African who strongly believes that it takes the entire village to raise a child. Probably from that reflection, the blame can equally share.
Remember, my son is gay in a society that ridicules his behavior.
Hence, solving this problem might not be an easy battle I am aware of. It is quite critical to face the critics when my son develops suicidal thoughts on account of the naysayers who cannot tolerate his behavior.
Some say he is demonically possessed and, as a parent, I must pray for him to cast out the evil spirit.
They walk an extra mile by quoting scriptures, spiritually and mentally challenging him that he must repent from this cantankerous sin because his behavior is pathetically unholy.
Depending on their opinions or advice they give him, it all ends up in the wilderness.
I guess I am not the only parent carrying such a burden. Truth be told, even some female folks behave unacceptably. Well, they are lesbians according to an Oxford Dictionary I read. They also attend mass in my congregation every Sunday.
The reason for not scorning them that much it is because they are coming from households of the elite. However, it is pointless when you come to the ghetto, in that a majority has lost their way by finding pleasure with a person of the same gender. An amount of care about what people comment about their lives it is none of their business. Although that does not work out for all, because of the negative attitude that is portrayed by the upright when they see those who are gay having a good time with their partners.
I come to think of it. Even the international community recognizes them with open arms. With just a click of a button on certain social media platforms, you will even find Gay Pastors in search of the lost sheep. What if my son was to gain inspiration from such, am I going to be considered as a failed Parent?
