Gender Equality in Workplaces

On 19th May, Safecity hosted a chat on Gender Equality in the Workplace as part of the Feminist Conference organised by @SheThePeopleTV. Anupama Kapoor @anupamaskapoor and Gopika Kaul from Reboot Network @reboot_network were guests on the chat.
The chat began with the basic question of whether women have equal access to job opportunities. Once affirmed, the participants were asked to share the obstacles that women face in the workplace and their thoughts on the glass ceiling effect. We then asked the audience whether they see gender inequality at the workplace and to share instances and examples of inequality they see in their daily lives. Ending the chat on a positive note and with solutions, the audience was asked for their suggestions on how we can all work to create feminist work spaces.
