As a 19 years old girl and victim of girl's power being abused,I must address the challenges faced by girls by being a voice that might be heard out there.
The foremost challenge each girl in our community has to face is being held back by societal norms.These so called cultural/societal norms cast profound influence over girls status, continuing deeply ingrained abuse of girl's power. These challenges include;
1.A girl not given a chance or space to realise her dreams,ambitions and goals.Having one to fight for it makes you stubborn and unacceptable towards society.
2.They are taught to be submissive towards others by being a burden/responsiblity for people.
3.They are misjudged for defying the order by merely having an opinion of their own for the fear of outdoing others.
4.They are denied to lead anything of their forte with a condescending attitude for it is a matter of pride for others.
5.They are trampled upon by society by the virtue of being fragile and are mistreated.
6.They are deprived of their right to decision-making,eventually falling prey to restrictions society has imposed on them.
7.They are frowned upon on mingling with the opposite gender for a meaningful feat which is a factor holding them back.
8.They are treated with inequalities by providing them either lesser means or right to move freely of their own accord.
9.They are expected to be of platonically understanding nature even above all misinterpretations.
The alarming prevalence of these norms have pushed girls into the inferno of existential crisis.Hence as a matter of fact,it needs to be acknowledged that empowering girls is essential for creating a more equitable and inclusive society.Encouraging girls to pursue their passions, education, and ambitions can lead to positive social, economic, and cultural outcomes.
