Giving Dignity to Female InMates Behind Bar



From survey carried out,30 out
of 35 girls and women in Buea Central Prison lack access to menstrual
sanitary materials,facilities such as water supplies ,toilets and
changing facilities to manage their menses hygienically and with
dignity.



These women end up using papers,Rags,mattress stuffing during
menses,which is unhygienic and has negative impacts on their
health(urinary track and reproductive system diseases.



This project is to ensure good menstrual hygiene for 25 female in
mates at the Buea Prison.we want to create a supportive environment
and Dignity to women Behind Bars so that they can manage their menses
hygienically,safely and in privacy.we establish BeSafe Hand Made
Re-Usable Sanitary Pad workshop so that they can make their own
Eco-Friendly Pad,Wash and Re-Used for over 1 year.we will also donate
200 liters of water container, Soap to address barriers to water
and sanitation for the hygienic management of menstruation while in
prison.
