How I got here...

My mind is always going...always thinking of ways that I want to help...but....how does one move forward!! The mind is telling me its so simple...u have an idea, u network and there u go...helping the world become a better place. If only it were that simple!!!

I believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason…

About 4 months ago I was home sick. While watching the Oprah show…she had these people talking about this book “Half the Sky” I found my self getting closer and closer to the TV , my senses becoming more and more alert. I was drawn in!! I have always been (since I started to walk) interested in research, travel, world events, I have the passion to “save” the world….but maybe lacking a bit in the drive department. While watching this show I got so inspired and I was like “yes, I will do this”. Time passed and nothing was done…just the same ole daydreaming. A month or two passed … every were I went I was constantly reminded of this passion I had brewing inside of me. Once again I found myself in front of the TV listening an inspirational piece about a nonprofit called Women for Women International. Were u sponsor a women in a war torn country. There were women waiting outside of a building just waiting to be called…being told they have just been matched up with a sponsor…a sister. Four days later the company I work for decided to give us a bonus. I finally made a move…I signed up to sponsor a sister!

While waiting for news of my “new sister” I had this thought…Women for Women, Sisters for Sisters, Ladies for Ladies…what do must women have lots of ? Shoes and purses!! What if we made it easy for people to donate old shoes and purses for tax credit and in return turn around and resale these items with all proceeds going to Women for Women or something else along the same lines.

So…the journey begins….
