The implementing entity of the of the project is action developer while the project implementing partner is Emerging Leadership Initiatives



BACKGROUND



Action for community development is in Nairobi based community based organization working to mentor, empower innovative solutions in the areas of human rights, children, education, and people with disabilities. The goal of the CBO work in to serve and empower communities in urban and rural Kenya through the promotion of innovation solution in Human rights, early pregnancy, early married, education and institutional capacity strengthening.



PROJECT SUMMARY



The project will be conducted in the slums Nairobi within the areas of Mukuru kwa Njenga,Kwa Ruben, Lunga Lunga,Korogocho,Mathare,Kariobangi,Kawagware,KIibera, Kagemi,and others. The project will cover workshops, forums, and awareness in the following thematic area.



1 Human rights



2 Early pregnancies



3 Educations



4 Poverty eradication



5 OVERALL OBJECTIVES



The overall objectives of this project is to promote human rights, reduce early pregnancies and enhance  education  level and reduce poverty in the slums of Nairobi.



INDICATION OF ACHIEVEMENT



1 Human rights- The high number of the slum dwellers are not aware of human rights



2 The high number of reduction in human right abuses like domestic violence.



3 EarlyPregnancyy – indication will be the high number of reduction on early pregnancy will be part of this project.



4 Education indications- the high Number of students enrolling to pursue education within the slums of Nairobi.



The high Number youth graduating from primary schools to pursue secondary education within the slums of Nairobi is too low and this will be part of our project to deal with this matters.



The high Number of students are dropping from schools because poverty from Nairobi slums. This will part of our projects and we will help to our capacity.



POVERT ERADICATION INDICATIONS



1 The indications will be Number of people will engaging in table banking within the slums of Nairobi.



2 The Number of people entering in income generating activities within the slums of Nairobi.



3 The increase of household income within the slum area of Nairobi.



4 Main activities



The main activities in the project implementation will be workshops, Forums, and awareness creation of the areas.



KEY TARGET BENEFICIARY POPULATION



1 The key target beneficiaries’ population will be the people living within the slums of Nairobi. We shall take data in our office. Are Young Women, Children old women and people with disabilities?



Here is my next program for this year from Nov 15 2020 to Nov 15 2021.



1 Nov 15 to January 2 we will be in Mukuru kwa Njenga for awareness and we expect to do for one month because the population in this slum is about 300,000 people and children and Youth are 100,000. We shall be training 30 children and 50 youth for 4 days.



2 January   5 to February 5 we will be in Mathare slum a population of 200,000 and we expect to train and do awareness for one month.



3  10 Feb  to April 10 we will be in Korogocho slum for a workshop  and training and Korogocho  population is about  400,000 and we are expecting to train and do awareness for  2 months,  youth and children are about 250,000.



4  15 April to July we will be in Kibera for 4 months because it’s the  leading slum in East  and Central of population of  1M and we shall do evaluation before we continue with other slums.
