I am envious

Shameela Yoosuf Ali

Thinking of the lives of our Grandmothers. It is less complicated. They did not have laptops or mobile phones. There was always ample time to spend with family. They visited the sick, attended all the weddings and always ready to render their hands to the neighbors and needy.

They were able to concentrate fully on their devotions and never missed a prayer due to a pending assignment.
They went to bed early as there was no late night surfing and waken crisp in the dawn.

Their work was organized and planned without reading the latest tips on time management and productivity.
They always had time to breathe fresh air, listen to the birds, and to gaze at the heavenly night sky.
They were healthy, full of life, vibrant and never made the doctors rich.

I could not help but grow envious.
Is Development actually a curse, my mind is engrossed in a complex battle.
