Impacting women through various developmental schemes
• There are 677 single women in 15 villages of Chandrapur and 779 in 15 villages of Nagpur district
• Out of 1456 single women, 920 are receiving pension under SGNY, while 107 applications are under process, and for the remaining application process will soon be undertaken
• 89 single women who had no ration card were helped to get ration card. This mostly included separate ration card for the single women headed households
• 258 single women were helped to make their job cards under MNREGA
• Around 750 women from 30 villages were covered through awareness meetings on succession rights and other provision of succession act
• 20 women leaders are identified from two districts, whose capacity building process is under way through training and exposure
• As part of advocacy and networking efforts, Prakriti submitted memorandum to increase widow pension through Mahila Kisan Adhikar Manch (MAKAAM). As a result the pension amount in Maharashtra was increased w.e.f. September 2019
• Problems faced by single women with regard to ration, pension and job card were discussed with block and district level authorities, including selection committee of widow pension.
• Collective programs were organized with MNREGS cell in Nagpur, block pension committee and district legal services authority etc.
