In Memory of Vweta: We will not forget your name
Apr 15, 2021
We miss you. You showed so many of us the way forward.
You battled to heal from a surgery that took away your vocal ability. In doing so, you showed us how, even without a literal voice, we can find our own.
You showed us how to fight for our own health so we can pour out more goodness into the world.
You showed us how we could start our own projects with the sick, the vulnerable, the left behind, and celebrate their wholeness - our wholeness. As you did with your Project ASHA, which you expanded across four countries and six states across Nigeria.
As you said: “ASHA means life and hope in Sanskrit and Swahili. Today I am giving women access to the Internet, which is giving them a voice, just as it gave me my voice. I am creating digital literacy hubs in rural communities: safe places where women and girls can connect and share their stories with the world.”
You showed us how even with little resources one can give back.
You were a true World Pulse leader. A World Pulse Ambassador, Featured Changemaker, Vocal Contributor, Featured Storyteller. You built and created World Pulse alongside us.
Thank you Vweta, we will not forget your name. And now we will show you how we will give to others what you gave to us.
Rest in power sis.
