The Inner Harmony Circle began as a motivated initiative to cultivate the present moment. For over 10 years, I have gifted myself the practice of Reiki, and sacredly, this space has been on my agenda every month whenever possible. It has allowed me to gain a broader perspective on life, its purpose, and, particularly, to slow down the whirlwind of expectations that has been imposed on me since I was a child. Understanding that the only valuable and real thing we have is the present moment. That's why, when I decide to take a break from my work and the demands of my professional career, I buy a deck of mindfulness exercise cards, and my realization comes at the moment I start to explore.
If I can continue working on nurturing my present with others, I can experience greater satisfaction. Learning happens when it's shared. So, I started this exercise a little over a month ago. At the moment, I have around 4 to 5 regular participants. Although the exercise is open to everyone, it has particularly attracted women.
This has made me think that those of us who seek well-being more frequently are women. While we continue to strive for a better quality of life and opportunities in the world, we've come a long way in gaining ground. It's easier for us to acknowledge our vulnerability, and in doing so, we seek more tools to be well. Each session has, therefore, been composed of meditation and mindfulness strategies that can be easily applied to life.
So far, we've had three meetings, and with the aim of continuing these gatherings twice a month, women from different cities in Colombia and one from Toronto, Canada, come together virtually. This is a space conducted in Spanish, and we aspire to keep expanding the community to include more women and individuals who are looking to find balance in the midst of our busy daily lives.
My goal is to have two groups with around 6 to 10 participants in each group by the end of this year.
