International Women's Day Event

Girls of today will be women of tomorrow. Among last mile communities’, young girls are already leading their households and they are role models to their own mothers. Mentoring girls is like a force pushing them in the right direction.

On 7th, we celebrated International Women’s Day mentoring 90 girls from different schools. The day had different role models talk to girls about being champions for other girls and women in their communities. We discussed about girls’ leadership, importance of finding their voice and sharing their own powerful stories. We also covered topics on menstrual hygiene management, reproductive health and provided the girls with sanitary towels that can last them for two months.

The day ended with a group of girls reciting a poem about girls’/women rights. With availability of equal opportunity for growth, every girl can be a better mother of tomorrow.
