Introducing 3 New Voices to the World Pulse Community!!!

Many of my friends have been supporting me by listening to endless rants about immigration, Tucson shootings, diverse senators, and prison conditions in Arizona. They listen, they learn, our conversations shift, one by one. Our perceptions change. In yoga, whenever you do an inversion pose you are changing your perception of reality. When I first began to practice, I was scared of inversions. When I went through training, I would do hand-stands and head-stands against the wall for support. I was still not ready to let go and let the earth catch me. Over time, this changed. I stood further from the wall. I made my way to the middle of class. I kicked my feet up, I didn't get far. I tried when my body let me again, eventually I was inverted for a few seconds. Inversions are still something I work on. I feel that my conversations over the past 5 months have been like inversions for everyone involved. We've stepped to the wall, or each other, for support. As conversations deepened, we stepped further away from the walls. We said things we never thought before. We admitted we had been taught certain things about reality that were not true or did not serve us or the world we currently live in. We let go a little. We may still be kicking our feet up, but we're doing it together. I am blessed to have experienced what I have in the past five months, as a voice of the future, surrounded by people who listen and who share stories and open themselves, word by word, conversation by conversation.

Please welcome Leah, Jane, and Christan to World Pulse. I love hearing their stories and I hope you will too!

http://www.worldpulse.com/node/36392 This is Leah! Leah's vision for the future is, "Anarchy as envisioned by Emma Goldman - true freedom of the individual spirit." I have known Leah for three years, served on a board of members for a local grassroots organization with her, and we are often found at similar events to support women in our community. I love to listen to Leah and learn about everything she has about women, gender, and the global community. Our conversations can often pour deep into the night and I feel uplifted by her honesty and perspective.

http://www.worldpulse.com/node/36316 Jane's passions are "telling stories, collecting stories, transforming stories" and her vision for the future is love. Jane is a dear poet, writer, friend, kindred spirit. She shares a dream with me of traveling to somewhere lovely like Big Sur, or anywhere, and developing community cottage by cottage, writing, living in harmony with nature, reaching out, expressing ourselves.

http://www.worldpulse.com/user/8699 This is Christan!! Dental Hygiene student approaching the realm of holistic possibilities to deepen her own practice and offer people alternatives that may be (dare I say!) more effective than mainstream dental approaches! An article on coconut oil and dental hygiene will be up soon! Christan has the ability to brighten anyone's smile (literally!) and day. I constantly find myself revelling in her optimism and ability to detect when people are in need and find myself becoming a more compassionate person with every second spent with her.
