Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I am a student of the world. Professionally, I have worked in marketing and communications on and off for the past twelve years. Intermittently, I have succumbed to my passion to travel and experience the world, with two 2-year stints teaching ESL abroad. At heart, I am communicator and am committed to using my voice and talents to serve the wider community, particularly in highlighting human rights, poverty, inequality, and social justice.

My Passions:
Women's Empowerment, Inequality, Social Justice

My Challenges:
Inadequate support for implementation and funding of empowerment programmes at the grassroots level; myopic view of change-makers in local community; Few opportunities/programmes for people willing to work at social change; limited training in advocacy

My Vision for the Future:
To help empower people in my community to see themselves as agents of change and to help them believe that they can make a difference, reduce the common cycle of inter-generational poverty and state dependency...

My Areas of Expertise:
Writing, Editing, Teaching/Training, Speaking
