Introducing myself and my journal: A Beautiful Life

Story
About Me:
I am a 68-year-old artist who is currently is painting images of the natural world seen through the microscope and filter of science. My intention is to reveal the beauty of nature that is usually invisible to us. I am particularly interested in the cross-pollination between art and science. I have been a feminist my entire life, starting with my involvement in the feminist movement in Rome, Italy, from 1968 to 1971, and the landmark public exhibition in Piazza Navona on Mothers' Day of 1971. I helped organize the Take Back the Night event in San Francisco in 1978 and selected the ancient Eyptian goddess of the Sky, Nut, for the event's logo, poster and T-shirt. I lived most of my life in San Francisco, California, benefiting from that city's unique culture of creativity, tolerance and progressive politics. Education has always had a high priority in my life and I have taught on and off throughout my life, through arts-in-the-schools programs, a Waldorf school, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Today I live in Ashland, Oregon, with my husband, and am a member of the Ashland Art Center. I paint and teach classes about patterns in nature. My artwork can be seen on my website www.cybermuse.com.
