Introducing myself and my journal: Ma Soeur

About Me:
I am crazy about words and how different formulations mean different things. I think that language can be used as a drive for social change- in not just writing about the issues that affect us, but in the words we chose to express ourselves. In most patriachal societies, women are excluded in language and because we are all accustomed to the way things are done, we do not quite see or feel the linguistic oppression. It is important to find ways to include women without necessarily distorting culture. If only, for the sake of the next generations.

I am a freelance journalist and a blogger. I am also an auntie and substitute mother to more than 20 kids who I love so much, I worry I might not want any for myself.
