Introducing myself and my journal: More power to women

About Me:
I have around 12 years of experience in the computer software industry. In all my 12 years of work experience, I have been very dedicated and sincere towards my work. I have always done my work independently and have always made sure that I give due credit to people who have helped me in anyway, what so ever. I have always worked ethically and when I was a supervisor - I always made sure to judge the performance based only on merit.

I recently left an IT company after serving 1.5 years, since I could not accept being sidelined any longer by an insecure male chauvinist boss. ('insecure' because I had found some serious security and performance defects in the work done by him. I was not even vocal about my findings and work, so as not to antagonize him.)

Trying to find a job now.

It is so difficult being a single, 35 year old woman trying to find a job in India. The first question (and also a free advise), offered by the employers is - why am I not married and I should start planning my marriage soon !

Since I lost my father early in life, and live with my mother and younger sister, my interaction somehow never developed with men and also women.

It made me become more responsible. Instead of pursuing my masters, I decided to take up a job, so that I can help with the expenses.

I then became so immersed in my work and career, that 12 years just whizzed by..
