Introducing myself and my journal: United States

About Me:
I care deeply and follow the stories of the world's people, especially women and their children. I am interested in the courage and boldness of women who overcome great challenges, who speak for themselves and for others. I admire women like this! In my own community, I share my resources as I am able, volunteering in my children's schools, delivering meals to homebound elders, sharing meals, space and ideas with other women primarily. I have always had an awareness of social injustice, been curious about the causes of suffering both political, cultural and personal. As a single mother of two children, I feel at times unable to give as much time or resources as I'd like. In small ways, I try to make a difference to create a more liveable, humane, connected community. I'd like to do more, especially to build alliances across cultural & racial differences. I am glad to say that over time, my approach to personal tensions and conflicts is to face the truth with compassion, and make friends of my adversaries, real or imagined! I'm excited to be part of the PulseWire community.
