Jensine Larsen: A Sunbeam to Women!

World Pulse began with a dream of this visionary woman who dared to listen to women's imprisoned voices more than the noises of the status quo. We are surely grateful that Jensine took hold on her dream and birthed it into a reality.

The concept of safe online space for women is a remarkable idea. World Pulse succeeded in making this happen. How is it possible to bring together thousands of woman from all corners of the world, raised in diversified faith and culture, speaking different languages?

From time immemorial, society taught us "birds of the same feather flock together". Instead of forming connections, women were grouped according to personal preferences, religion, skin color, nationality, body types, and a list of so many categories that build divisions.

As women, we innately crave for conversations and connections, but society made us believe we need to be perfect before we can be heard. If we dare speak up, we are asked, " Who do you think you are?".

On World Pulse, we found solace to share our stories. As we share our journey, and "listen" to other sisters, we discover how similar our experiences are, and we learn to set aside the divisions created by politics, religion, stereotypes, discrimination, and cultural differences. We learn to celebrate being a woman. We acknowledge what a beautiful existence we truly are that our contributions to this world are to be celebrated, honored, and recognized.

On World Pulse, we give encouragement to a sister we never met, we extend our hand to hold her as she faces challenging circumstances, and tell her she is no longer alone.

On World Pulse, we draw strength from each other's inspiring stories and support each other with our respective advocacies.

On World Pulse, we amplify our voices against violation of women's rights and resist against any form of violence and inequality.

As we rediscover our voices and reclaim our stories, we move forward by liberating the imprisoned voices of women (and even men) in our communities.

These are all made possible because one woman decided fearlessly to pursue her passion and vision.

Imagine if each World Pulse sister will follow suit and be bold enough to fulfill the dream that has long been burning in her heart.

Imagine how many more women we can all set free from poverty, war, trafficking, discrimination, inequality, sexual and domestic violence, slavery, exclusion, and even death the moment we step up and act.

Imagine the kind of force we can all become when we emulate Jensine's bravery, vision, and leadership.

Allow me to share Jensine's Powerful poem:

THE SOUL OF WORLD PULSE

Let us be a loudspeaker for women of the world.

Let us call forth voice where before there was silence.

Let us stand back while they speak up, for their words are so beautiful they need no adornment.

Let us be their platform, their forum, their safe haven, their sanctuary, an amplifier no one can ignore.

For we believe every human voice has the right to be heard.

We believe every human being has the fundamental right to be connected to the world.

And that because the world is what we make of it, let us create a world where women are not merely free, but empowered so greatly as to be unstoppable.

A world where each woman can transform her life and the lives of those around her, simply by raising her voice.

One voice at a time, millions of voices strong. Until the sound is so deafening, the whole world will hear their music.

This is the pulse that transforms the world.

This is World Pulse.
