Training on UN resolutions 1325 and 1820

I am part of a group of people who have travelled to take part in a training program on UN resolutions 1325 and 1820. We, as a group of participants, came from various provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo. We have been lucky enough to be able to share and exchange our ideas and talk about ways to create a lasting peace for women and rediscover the respect that we Congolese women have lost.
The training course lasted 3 days, from 8am to 5pm each day. During these three days of training, it was very interesting for us to learn about these UN resolutions because we can use them on a local level, in our provinces, to put an end to the various kinds of violence which are inflicted on women and young girls.
When I came here for this training course, it was the first time I had ever been to our capital city, Kinshasa, as well as the first time I had ever travelled by plane, and it’s all thanks to the GNWP.
