Mu Sochua in Colorado & a photo from PP

I have some amazing friends around the world, but in particular, Saira, who works for UAF (UrgentActionFund). I photographed her wedding a few years back and we keep in contact now and then, she is the most energetic and cool person that I know! So, the other day I got an email from her about spending an evening with Mu Sochua, who is in the news lately quite a bit as you may be aware. I am so looking forward to this evening... it'll be July 2, 2009. I am looking forward to bringing my 'adopted' 9 year old Cambodian daughter along so that she can see a true example of what someone can become / achieve. Mrs. Sochua, looking forward to meeting you.

I've attached one image from Stueng Meanchey landfill... this was Feb 2007 I believe... everyone that approached me that day left with a pair of flip flops, a bit of rice, some ointment from Thailand. This is yet another weak link in the chain for young women and even young girls (5 year olds)... ... much is being done by many people and groups... yet every time I go there I find at least 50 without anything on their feet... it's only a band-aid to a problem that many are working to solve a bit higher up...

The first time I was at the landfill was in 2005 - I've been 3 times now... hoping to go again in about 6 months from now... or around Dec. 2009.
