My Award

Saturday 29th August 2015 was a landmark day in my life. A day I reflected on and congratulate Jensine Larsen for creating World Pulse. A day I thanked myself for enroling in the Voices of Our Future Programme.

For those who have been reading my journal posts here, I founded the Rescue Women Girls Scholarship in 2013, after I graduated from the Voices of Our Future (VOF) Programme. I wanted to be the change that they taught us to be. I wanted to find solutions to the problems my community was facing. And following my experience as a girl, I thought the best thing I could do was to start up a scholarship scheme for girls in my community.

Its been just one year since I started implementing my scholarship project and I have already won a National Award for FOSTERING GIRL CHILD EDUCATION in my community. How did this happen?

A United States based organization called False Label Global Inc. was seeking nominations for those who have impacted their communities in positive ways. I only came to know about this when my own Cameroonian and World Pulse sister, Chi Leina Yvonne nominated me for this award. I was surprised, yet humbled, and at that time I convinced myself that I was doing something impactful. Something that other people see as a mighty contribution to the growth of girls and women. Even though nominated, I never knew I was going to take the spot in that category of FOSTERING GIRL CHILD EDUCATION. Joy came, when the organization called to inform me that after reviewing nominations they have found my work impactful enough to receive the award. I receive that beautiful and meaningful award on Friday 29th August, at Hill Top Hotel, Bamenda, Cameroon.

That is the first award that I am receiving, and I know many are on the way. I will keep saying THANK YOU to World Pulse for creating a change agent!!!
