MY JOURNEY

My life has been what the caterpillar has to go through before it can become the butterfly. The valley moments seemed never ending. For as soon as I overcame one challenge there was another one waiting for me. I did not realize it at the time but it was those said challenges that helped to transform me.

I have experienced what some may call literal heart pain in waves. The loss of my mom, followed by my divorce, losing my business crushed me. I almost gave up but my relationship with God helped me to persevere and continue. I may have experienced some losses but I am grateful that I did not lose my mind!

At the time of my divorce I had two young daughters and being a stay at home mom I now had to find a way to take care of my girls. After struggling financially for two years I eventually got a job. I wanted to show my daughters that with hard work, consistency and a stick to it attitude one can achieve anything.

Today my daughters are young ladies with the eldest in University and the youngest is in high school. Even with what is happening in the world today their positive attitude is an inspiration for all of us. I am happy to say that I have been teaching for the past few years. Something I thoroughly enjoy.

I have learnt to always try to see the positive in challenges and not stay focused on the negative. It has helped me and continues to help me today. In life there would always be storms but we have the tenacity within us to overcome anything. I believe that this chapter of my life is now beginning as my wings are now strong enough. I am humbled.

I am NOW the butterfly.
