My journey

Born into a polygamous family of five wives and 24 children, and being a girl meant misery and subject to some existing norms. No education for me because I was as the community believes a merchandise, labourer in the farms, baby factory and a house keeper. My mother thought differently and educated to make me the teacher, researcher and social advocate I am today.
Getting married in monogamous contract which is breached by my husband took my childhood experience to another level. Betraying me by having another family which is against our agreement made me realise education and empowerment is not all a woman needs. This brought me to thinking that I need to contribute to change the status quo like my mother. Taking my husband up to answer for his actions by providing for the families he has made. In this process my husband was humbled and most of my friends inspired to take up the men to answer for their actions. This was an eye opener to me that I can lead women to break free from the mentality slavery of the man is the head and can't be questioned. Leadership skills to be developed is what I need to take the crusade ahead.
