My narrow escape

It was three days to my wedding day. In the part of the world that I come from, weddings are celebrated gallantly. All members of the immediate and extended family come together to celebrate the special day with the couple.
Myself and my fiance were on our way to see an aunt in order for me to introduce him to my aunt before the wedding day. This is very important as it is regarded as an offence for my aunt to be seeing my husband for the first time on our wedding day. As we passed between the sufforcating crowd of the then Oshodi market in Lagos, I heard a policeman behind me calling ''madam, madam come here'' I looked back and he asked me to open my bag. Respecting his uniform, I obliged, just when i was about to open my bag, another policeman appeared and ordered me to go. It was on our way home that i realised what miracle I had just experienced. I opened my bag to buy some snacks, staring at my face were the bullets daddy told me to keep in his room the night before. I remembered that i was already feeling sleepy when daddy and i finished our discussion at the veranda last night and i remember keeping the bullets in my bag which was very close to me aiming at taking them to his room on my way to my room.
It was then that it dawned on me what a miracle. My wedding day would have been spent in the prison. Myself and my fiance sang praises all through home I will eternally be grateful for this Miracle.
