My shared vision for a beautiful world

Wow!!! Where do I start? The learning materials for Week 4 Assignment gave me many moments to ponder on and say to myself “That is so true” and “That is exactly what I need to do”. “Losing connection with her physical body as well as the body of the earth”, “Addiction to doing” and “Abandoning her interior life” are definitely common ways I am losing my innate female wisdom. I already have the immense support from the women in World Pulse which has now spurred me to begin my quest to “Face my fear”, “Cultivate a sacred quartet”, “Take my time to honour my body, my senses, and the natural world” and “Engage in creative arts”.

Recently, my personal vision for my own life, my community and the world has been inhibited by my state of confusion and uncertainty, for a lack of a better word, about my relationship with everything around me. I felt strapped by these unsettling and directionless thoughts which brought upon a lot of fear in me in achieving what I truly want to do for the women around me. Having this opportunity now to question myself and analyse my thoughts and seek ways of gaining back my Self and my vision for the women of our world, I feel somewhat liberated. I can sense myself getting back on my feet slowly finding my place as to what I want for Me, my Community and Our World.

First, I want to be happy with me as Me. I want to be able to celebrate me and appreciate me for who I am. I know I was brought into this world for a purpose and I will explore that journey with time to gain clarity as to where my heart and strengths lie. I want to be able to make small changes that can bring happiness to the lives of the women around me. I want to be able to pass on my passion and my love for my community through the work that I do and be able to share the change and make the change together as a community. The essential characteristics of the vision of my life are happiness, laughter, freedom, relationships, awareness, expression, space, safety, security, equality, respect, understanding and enjoying and respecting the world we live in. I want to share this vision with the community I belong to and together benefit from the beautiful life we each can live.

When I think of these characteristics, young women who are trafficked, young women refugees, young women who are displaced, young women who are migrant workers are the furthest away from achieving this shared vision. I want to bridge this gap by addressing their situation and responding to their needs. I want to better use my skills and knowledge to give them back their rights and their freedom. I want to work together with other women in creating safe spaces for these groups of women to just live their lives without exploitation and without fear. I want them to be able to see that this is their world too and have the hope that they will very soon live their life to the fullest.

This space here that has been graciously created by World Pulse will help me achieve this. The issues that women face as a result of trafficking, migration and conflict permeates all of our societies and it can only be addressed with a concerted effort. I hope to identify and work together with like-minded women to address this issue which happens across borders and countries. This opportunity allows me to question, bounce about ideas and think innovatively with women around the world on how to make lives better for our sisters. My role as a Voices of Our Correspondent can bring about great change and together with my online community I am ready for change NOW!
