My Time At The Empowerment Training

When we first got there on Thursday evening, little did I know of the experience that was awaiting me. We got started by first introducing ourselves and through that I found out that many countries were represented, they all except me came on their own, spent more than $5000 to partake in the Empowerment Training Program which made me to appreciate the opportunity better. After dinner the workshop started at 7.00 – 10.00pm. The topic was:- Make your passion Happen, The Art of Creating Your Life As You Want It. The overview was at the end of the empowerment we will find our own pace, The growth has to come from us. We were advised to participate wholeheartedly, staying open to new ideas ready to leave our comfort zone, purge ourselves of our old idea to be able to accommodate the new one, recognize our belief system, trusting the process and the dreaming that we can get what we need and that we should the experience for our own transformation. It was on this note that we started the workshop.
We were asked to answer seven questions in the beginning of the program and answers to those questions was what we worked towards achieving in the program. The questions were:- What is my deepest reason for wishing to empower others?, What need is my empowerment work fulfilling?, What life experiences, talents and qualities will help me succeed in my empowerment?, What challenges I have to transform to make my empowerment successful?, What skills and personality development will I need to transform this challenges?, How will succeeding with my empowerment work for the deepest of my potential? and how will empowerment contribute to improving our world? We all answered all these questions in our own way and discuss, taken some questions and the day one ended.
On the second day, we started with Empowerment model that is strategy for transformation, the first thing I learnt was in everything you want to embark upon you focus on the possibilities and not the problem. We went on a journey, on the journey, we got to a very big house with a big corridor that lead to seven rooms. In the seven rooms, this is to discover the seven source of power we need to create and sustaining growth in life. When we started because I have never engage in visualization exercise before, I was struggling and finding it difficult to concentrate as we continue I just found out that I was actually seeing and hearing things in these rooms that I was drawing in my book. After the journey we paired with a partner each to discuss what we found or heard in those rooms with our partners and i found out that what both of us found actually made sense and a reflection of what we may create in the seven sources of power which are:- Commitment, Discipline, Support system,Inner Guidance, Lightness, Love and Finding your own truth This visualization is one of the things I learnt from the empowerment that will continue to help me through out my life The summary of the workshop was to enable us to know where we were on every issues, where we wanted to go, what we need to change to get there and then our next growth step. When you are able to answer all these questions on any issue, the next thing is to look at your affirmative statement on your next growth step and ask yourself if it is possible for you to take the step or not and how you feel when you speak out the affirmative statement. We were told that when we are helping ohers to be empowered, we should not think that we want to fix them rather we should just create a space in us for their pain, be present and connected with them. We should have the clear intention to give our best, have respect for the beauty of each person we are working with, understand that you are not to fix them but guide them to their truth.
The training is to help us to be able to help others in our community to create their lives the way they want it not as the way they are forced to live it, to help them to make their passion happen, create a place for any trauma they might be going through, help them to hold complexity of human condition that is life is full of ups and down and to let know that, that is the difference between human and divine. By this they will be able to take things as they come and also live their potentials to the fullest. The workshop ended with a very good dance together, women as much as 15years older than me were dancing so very well that i was so much encouraged that i should not allow the pressure of this world to weight me down to the point of not having good time one time or the other. I was able to forget myself completely during the workshop that i can even shared personal things with people. One other thing that baffles me about the workshop was that when we finished the workshop on the first day and we were going to where we were going to lounge for the period of the training, it was like I have being in that street before and I knew that I have never been to that part of the world before. As I was going through it in my mind, it just dawn on me that I have actually dreamt about that street twice before which meant that it has been ordained that I would be at the empowerment training by God which gave me so much joy. At the end of the program, my affirmative statement for my growing edge is that:- Even though my vision is so big, it can happen and I will start somewhere until I get there, one step at a time.
