New Opportunity! We're Rallying Our Voices for Climate Justice

Join us as we rally our voices for climate justice! Share your story or initiative by 13 November for a chance to be featured.

It's clear our Earth is in a state of emergency: From deadly floods in India, Libya, and Rwanda to wildfires in Canada, Chile, and Maui; oppressive heat waves across Asia, Europe, and the US, cyclones, droughts, and more, there's no denying the impacts of climate change on our lives and our communities. What’s worse: A report published in March by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicts that temperatures could rise 1.5 degrees Celsius in under a decade, leading to exponentially worse climate crises if we don’t act now.

But behind these harrowing headlines are stories of everyday heroines: changemakers who are championing solutions and speaking out to mobilize for change and increased climate commitment.

World Pulse is rallying the voices of the community to highlight hope and give visibility to the incredible work and insights of women everywhere. Whether you are leading efforts in your community to steward the Earth; have a story to tell about how climate change impacts your community; or simply want to share a clarion call to action — we want to hear from you.

To participate, share your climate justice story or initiative by 13 November. Be sure to tag your post with"Environment". You could even receive a Story Award or Featured Initiative Award, which includes a $100 US honorarium!

Here are some ideas to get you started:

• Tell us about the impacts of climate change on your life. Have you lived through a natural disaster? Experienced food shortages? Seen first hand the devastation of inaction?
• Share a story about your efforts, your challenges, and your successes as an environmental activist.
• Post an initiative on World Pulse to tell us about the work you are doing to protect the planet.
• Do you have ideas for how to address environmental degradation? Share an action plan for individuals, governments, and/or the international community. 
• Do you experience climate anxiety? How do you care for yourself while caring for the planet?
• Tell us why climate change is a feminist issue. 
• Share a love letter to the earth and the landscape around you.
• Tell us what actions you commit to taking to protect the planet.

This call for stories is part of a digital campaign to give visibility and recognition to stories and initiatives related to climate justice. Stories received by 13 November 2023 will be considered for Story Awards and Featured Initiative Awards, and may be highlighted in a special content package timed to release during the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference.
