Nominating Regina Afanwi Young for a World Pulse Spirit Award

Regina joined us here in World Pulse in Dec 2020 but it feels like a lifetime that her stories of courage and generosity have blessed the pages of our community. Regina has that power of having palpable love spill out from her stories, and just this morning, New Year’s morning there she was, sending out a message to us all, doing that graceful, empowering walk of a woman in her full power, a woman who knows she is here to make wonderful things happen for many, starting with anyone facing the greatest difficulties, wrapping her loving arms around all of us, and in the centre of her heart, the community of people living with disabilities. She reminds us all constantly that wherever she is, whatever she does, it is toward a world in which everyone is loved and included.

This, from her recent story while in bed sick:

“I thought of internally displaced persons, children with disabilities, children in orphanages, street children etc. I just wished I could reach out to them even with just a smile. I would normally go out in my neighborhood to visit some of these vulnerable persons on festive days like this, but I felt really helpless in bed. But one thing gave me so much hope and a reason to smile. I had done some donations before I travelled for holidays early in December. Thank God I have learnt not to procrastinate”.

In gratefulness that you have found World Pulse, in joy to be able to know you, I am nominating you, dear sister for a World Pulse Spirit Award.
