what is 'Olympics games this is an ancient Greek festival held every 4th year and made up of contests in sorts , music and literature. the game also provide an opportunity for host city and country to showcase themselves to the world ,Olympic games are categorized in different sport activities that includes summer , winter , yoga and Paralympics. the first summer Olympics was held in 1896 in Greece most of us weren't born looking at this historical event its said that the game had the largest international participation for any sporting event for that day since then there are series of other Olympics until today in the 22 century where we all watched the opening ceremony starting with the Olympics torch. this torch present the continuity of the Olympics games by linking the ancient traditions this began back in 1936in Berlin since then the torch has been an integral part of Olympic games its symbolic flame is lit several months before the start of the Olympic games the flame symbolizes friendship, peace, ideals , mutual understanding and its journey around the world that unites nations and set the stage for the competition. the modern Olympics have some amazing moments one being the Olympic held in Greece and being first , the second modern Olympic fact was in 1923 the first winter games that was held in summer. the third fun fact is the Olympic flag that has five intertwined rings on white background , the five linked rings symbolizes unity , solidarity of the five continent's of AFRICA, AMERICA (NORTH AND SOUTH ),ASIA ,OCEANIA AND EUROPE . each Olympic games have specific motto and this year motto is 'UNITED BY EMOTIONS.. the awarding's traditions was introduced in 1904 with gold, silver and bronze to each Olympic winner in the ancient Olympics winners were not given medals but were awarded with olive wreath. the gold medals are made of solid gold until in the 1912 when they changed that, host city design medals for their games. the opening ceremony procession is always led by GREEK and ended by host team all others go in alphabetical order as labeled by the host country language . the first television station to air Olympics was CBC back in 1960 that is in the united states. live pigeons were used for archery in the 1900 . no country from the southern hemisphere has hosted the winter games , every two years the Olympic flames is lit at Peloponnese peninsula in the host nation that display the flames around the country before its used to light the Olympic cauldron at the opening ceremony . united states is the only country that has hosted summer Olympic four times , that was in 1904 in St. Louis, 1996 in Atlanta tree times then in 2028 it will also host Olympic games . special Olympics has become the world largest sport most countries have invested heavily on people with disabilities with more than five million athletes in 174 countries and is officially recognized by the international Olympic committee the special Olympic was founded back in 1968 when thousands of athletes matched by the founder of special athlete not mentioning him he campaign for more rights and acceptance for people with intellectual disabilities this reminds me of this quote about disability is not inability .. this year 2024 Olympics brought some memorable nights with emotions American celebrity lady gaga and Celine Dion the ceremony was a testament to inclusive and gender equality the thrilling torch from all this i thank technology we able to watch it on our phones , tv, laptop in fact it was the talk of town the Olympics united people . small countries like Sudan in Africa worn their first gold medal in basketball game that was so encouraging and motivational Sudan has been through civil unrest for long time but their team put all that behind them and show the world that despite the war they are champs . I really look forward to team KENYA to do us proud they will break the world record because we hold that trophy its ours and nobody is going to take it a ways from our men and women who run faster that the cheetah we have in our animal game parks .i also look forward to the men's 100 miters relay its going to be interesting to watch who get the gold I'm very hopeful with our Kenyan athletes .the Kenyan rugby players Mede us so proud the other day they had their best moment at the Olympics with few medals the basketball team is soon playing I'm hopeful too we going to win because our girls are very much prepared to carry our flag high as always . Olympic games have united the world and each country have given their best players I was watching the united states basketball you could see all professional basket ball from different states have come together to win the game and yes they did win the game it was nice to see LeBron, Stephen, shooting those 3 pointers that was amazing match to watch .i really enjoy Olympics and I hope other too because its stress reliever when you watch different games with professional athletes doing it the professional way you tend to forget about the daily stress and you find yourself enjoying the game and feeling good about yourself having a team you supporting through the screen you end up screaming for them to win then when they do ! you celebrate with them . Olympic season is therapy season too for someone who loves games .its just like football season those who enjoy it do have fun until the end season. good thing about Olympics! you have variety of games to watch and cheer , you can decide to enjoy every game that is scheduled for the whole day. its a family thing you and your family can play it at home supporting a team
