Opportunities

My community is the women around the world; women who are shaped to some degree by institutional hierarchy and social-economic forces promoting or hindering access to resources vital for their livelihoods. I do not see barriers per se as I perceive challenges as opportunities. However, I am intrigue by how can my input could proactively reach all of those who are interested in my contribution. I want to build a culture of empowerment and change amongst our community that will spark a global dialogue with local effects. Financial exclusion of rural and the urban poor is a fact that affects the majority of our families and children. Where to start? How to merge informal and formal systems of doing things? How to contextualize our settings so we can localize change?

Women’s wisdom is unique, our place in the world make us experts in the solutions to our problems. We need to institutionalize the value of our uniqueness: our culture, our socialization, to identify the outside forces that shape us and what to do to change them! I have in mind three principles for my contribution to us: promote independent thinkers amongst us; learn to deconstruct knowledge and create our own; value our opinions and respect them; challenging points of view are welcomed; and third the construction of an active learning community. We are participating, contributing, and learning in ongoing basis to give solutions us!!! We are generating knowledge...ALWAYS.

PulseWire is a platform of knowledge and resources; it is a point of junction dissolving geographical barriers. Outreach power is immeasurable. We will be not just connected but interconnected to others with similarities in experiences and with differences in possible solutions. My goal is to become part of a participatory culture of active learners; so our power will forge effective leaders and independent thinkers with social empathy in our communities.
