This is my first post and a new member. I never knew this group existed until i find myself in a fix. Apart from the fact that i am introverted i feel this space is a non judgement space where i could express my thoughts. I love taking care of kids i have one child of mine. I love taking a long walk in the evenings, i have passion for reading and surprisingly writing. I live in a country known for its good and bad (not to be judgmental). That is why i am in this space. Here is my story long but true;

Well,in my two-year struggle against illness, I was overcome with a miserable feeling of giving up and resigning to look after myself. However, even after all my efforts to heal, I still had to battle depression, and the thought of re-joining the workforce is a huge challenge. I had to seek refuge in joining a supportive community that will help me sail through my way into resuming my career.

My experience highlights the importance of mental health awareness and how individuals like me try to cope with personal well-being and professional aspirations. The integration process back into the workforce after an extended leave can be overwhelming, especially when accompanied by mental health struggles. My story sheds light on the need for companies to prioritize mental health support for their employees, ensuring a smoother transition for individuals returning after a prolonged absence.

Hence, my decision to join a community for support showcases the power of a strong network in facilitating recovery and reintegration. I think I will gain understanding, empathy, and practical help from the community and have my confidence and skill set built up once more. By sharing my experiences and learning from others, I found my purpose and belonging that nudged me toward taking back my professional identity.

My journey will inspire people who have similar situations in their quest to manage health and aspirations from a career, just as others inspired me to ask for help and make mental health a priority. In a manner that people like me surmount the odds, I will also emerge stronger than ever. That, through my experience, we shall be reminded of the power of compassion, understanding, and community in helping one navigate the complexities of illness, recovery, and back to the workforce.
