Pass the IVAWA
Apr 28, 2022
First story
The International Violence Against Women Act (H.R. 4594, S. 2982) is a major step and unprecedented effort to end violence against women and girls across the globe. Now that we have major progressive women leaders like Hillary Clinton, Michele Bachelet and Melanne Verveer and many others in national and international positions to pressure for passage, the time is now! NOTHING, not nuclear threats, terrorism, global recession, global warming supercedes the importance of passing and enacting the IVAWA. Indeed, it is only by freeing women of the tyranny of physical and structural violence (poverty and disenfranchisement) that solutions to these global crises can possibly be realized. Please make passage of the Act a diplomatic and legislative priority!
