Politalks- Street Harassment and Urban Planning

As part of the #AntiStreetHarassmentWeek we had #Politalks– a discussion on street harassment and the role of urban planning in making public spaces more inclusive. The session was co-facilitated by Vihang Jumle and Priya Tiwari.

They touched upon numerous topics, from the basics of harassment to power dynamics between genders. Safecity was extremely delighted to have Jeenal Sawla, an expert and seasoned urban planner, who gave amazing insight into the foundations of urban planning and gender inclusive public spaces. Is it time we have more ‘Eyes on the street’ or do we reclaim our public spaces? – Or perhaps ‘Hack’ public spaces. Here’s one such thought from Jeenal Sawla herself –

Thank you, Jeenal Sawla, for sharing insights into the foundations of urban planning and gender inclusive public spaces and ISDI Mumbai for hosting us at your beautiful venue.
