Potential Media Opportunity w/Glamour magazine

Hi all,
Glamour magazine is looking into a couple of stories re: Haitian Superwomen and I'm the designated "looker." As with all things in mag world, nothing's definite till the pages hit the printers but depending on whom I find and the editors like, this could turn into great publicity for some Haitian women leaders. (please do not forward info here without first alerting me. also, they've been at this research for a minute so some of you may have heard from Glamour folks already, I'm not sure)

Following the mag's profile and audience, they're interested in women who fit a very particular profile:
-- women in their 20s and 30s
-- preferably a Haitian woman but hyphenated Haitian okay, too
-- works around one of three areas**: 1) rape 2) restaveks 3) medicine, i.e. a female doctor, nurse, social worker, etc.
--most important, a leader whose initiative impacts a lot of women in some ground-breaking way for Haiti. So, a leader of her own organization, a founder of her own clinic, etc.
--a woman who is deeply tied to a specific community

If a woman comes to mind, instantly, great, I want to know. If there're orgs or other people who can lead me to the right women, fab.

My email: carla.m.murphy@gmail.com. Get at me as soon as you can--even if to tell me this assignment is next to impossible. (which, I'm thinking, it ain't)

** re: the three areas, I'm sure Glamour would be open to expanding this if there's a Superwoman working in another field with similar out-sized impact on Haitian women.

Thank you,

C.
