As a communications consultant in the developmental sector, I've always been passionate about the SDGs, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Goal 17 (Partnership for the Goals). I recently pursued a course to enhance my knowledge on integrating these goals into my campaign designs.
During my exploration, I discovered the Institute for Economics and Peace and became an IEP ambassador. For my final project, I presented on "Advancing Peace in Maternal Health Care Systems in Nigeria." This topic is deeply personal to me as both a mother and someone familiar with the challenges within Nigeria's healthcare system, especially concerning maternal and child mortality rates.
My first personal campaign, separate from organizational work, focuses on Pregnancy, Childbirth, Postpartum, and Child Care (PCPC). I have been actively sharing insights and articles about this series on platforms like Medium for some time now.
Currently, I am executing a campaign in this area. Over the next five weeks, I along side five wonderful professionals who have dedicated their time and knowledge will be advocating for "Advancing Positive Peace in Maternity Healthcare System in Nigeria." This initiative aims to highlight and address critical issues in maternal health care.
I am thrilled to collaborate with CHAFHEIN, a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and young individuals by breaking barriers and fostering meaningful connections.
Joining me as co-host and presenter is Amina, CHAFHEIN's team lead, who will share insights during one of our sessions.
This campaign is supported by Black Girls Dream Initiative (BGDI), a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting quality education, bridging the gender/digital gap, and ending Female Genital Mutilation.
